The Athearn ATH3869 N Scale 50' Box Car represents the CNJ Central New Jersey #41025. This model comes with three road numbers. It features etched metal stirrup steps and a detailed, molded underframe. You can choose between Pullman Standard or Superior plug doors and the matching roof (Pullman Standard or Stanray - Superior). It rides on N - scale 70 ton trucks with machined 33” metal wheels. Body - mounted McHenry® operating scale knuckle couplers are included, and it's weighted for great performance. The minimum radius for operation is 9 ¾”. In the 1960s, the North American Car Corporation designed this innovative 50’ outside post, insulated, plug door box car. Many railroads used it, often leased to private shippers. These cars had complex, colorful paint schemes, a sign of the future in railroading.

Using this Athearn box car is easy. Just place it on your N - scale track and connect it to other cars using the McHenry® couplers. When setting up your track layout, make sure the curves have a minimum radius of 9 ¾” to avoid derailment. As for maintenance, gently clean the metal wheels and couplers with a soft, dry cloth to keep them in good working order. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they might damage the car's paint or parts. Store the car in a cool, dry place when not in use to prevent any warping or damage. And that's it - you're all set to enjoy your new box car on your railroad!
