The Rapido 127026 MIL 3800 cu.ft. Covered Hopper in HO scale is back for a third time! This time, it comes with new road numbers and paint schemes. It's designed to replace those incorrect 4550 cu.ft. covered hopper car models on your layouts and displays. The prototype cars were made to carry bulk commodities like powdered minerals, industrial chemicals, cement, and potash. They have a 100 - ton capacity with four hopper compartments, totaling 3800 - 3850 cubic feet, and come with either 4 round or continuous trough hatches. These cars were built by major Canadian car builders and have traveled all over Canada and the contiguous US. Apart from big carriers like Canadian National and Canadian Pacific, many were built for leasing companies and are still in service today. The Rapido model is scaled from manufacturer drawings and includes alternative parts to show the differences between MIL and NSC constructed cars. Features include round - hatch or trough - hatch design, correct Dofasco S - 2 100 - ton trucks, two body variations, three brake equipment variations, etched running boards, factory - installed air pipes, finely moulded plastic walkway supports, and full separate air piping and brake equipment details.

Using your Rapido HO scale 3800 cu.ft. covered hopper is easy. Just place it on your model train track and let it be part of your layout. When handling it, be gentle as it has delicate parts like the etched running boards and brake crossover platform. For maintenance, use a soft brush to clean the dust off the body, trucks, and other parts. If you notice any loose parts, like the air pipes or coupler cut levers, you can use a small amount of glue to reattach them. Make sure to store it in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the paint from fading. And if you want to change the hatch design or other features, refer to the included alternative parts and follow the simple instructions provided.
