The Rapido 139008 - 6 is an HO scale Canadian National Evans X72A Boxcar, #416515. Note that the picture might show a different road number. Between 1972 and 1973, Penn Central got over 1065 boxcars in the X72/X72A fleet from US Railroad Manufacturing's Illinois plant. In 1976, these cars went to Conrail, keeping their PC numbering and getting CR marks. Some were fully repainted, others just patched up. Later, CN acquired many of the remaining cars, and some were sold to leasing companies. The X72A is the only subclass of the X72, with no visible difference from the X72. Both have welded 12 - panel construction and 6 - panel Superior doors. The X72 is a common North American boxcar used in various services. Some cars have DF Belt Loaders for special equipment and others have Dual Air Paks for shock control. The Rapido X72 Boxcar has great features like being drawn from original blueprints, having art from original designs and photos, separate door posts and latches, a detailed underframe, cushion draft gear with semi - scale knuckle couplers, and detailed 70 - ton trucks with 33” metal wheels.

Using this HO scale boxcar is easy. You can place it on your model train track as part of your train set. It's a great addition for creating a realistic North - American railway scene. When handling the boxcar, be gentle to avoid damaging the separate door posts, latches, and coupler cut levers. Keep it away from rough surfaces to protect the detailed underframe and trucks. For maintenance, use a soft, dry cloth to clean the boxcar. Don't use any harsh chemicals as they might damage the paint or the detailed parts. If you notice any loose parts, try to carefully re - attach them. Store the boxcar in a dry place when not in use to prevent rust on the metal wheels and other parts.
