### Prototype Specific Information
In 1984, EMD introduced the first four SD60 demonstrator locomotives with a 3,800 horsepower, 16-cylinder, turbocharged 710G3A prime mover. Five years later, the SD60M with a wide nose “safety” cab and the “Tri-Clops” 3-piece windshield was launched. Union Pacific was the first to order these, followed by Burlington Northern and SOO Line. Some units later served with other railroads.

Using your Athearn Genesis SD60M Tri-Clops model train locomotive is easy. First, make sure your track is clean and properly connected. If you're using DCC, connect the locomotive to your DCC system using the 21 - pin NEM connector. In DC mode, simply connect the power supply to the track. You can start the locomotive and control its speed and direction with your controller.
When operating, keep in mind the minimum and recommended track radii. The minimum radius is 18 inches, but for better performance, use a 22 - inch radius track.
For maintenance, regularly clean the wheels with a soft, dry cloth to ensure good electrical contact. You can also gently dust the body of the locomotive to keep it looking its best. If you need to adjust any functions, refer to the CV chart included in the box. When not in use, store the locomotive in its secure packaging to prevent damage.
