The 70-Ton Mill Gondola was a common design starting in 1940. Nearly 16,000 cars were built by various manufacturers and railroad-owned shops. Its simple open-top design made it incredibly versatile, carrying all kinds of loads like steel products, machinery, minerals, lumber, and scrap metal. The last batch was built in late 1957, and you could still see them well into the late 1970s and beyond. (Note: The picture may show a different road number.)

Using Your 70-Ton Mill Gondola Model:
- Assembly: First, gather your Phillips screwdriver and glue. Follow the included instructions to put the parts together. It's simple and should only take a few minutes.
- Running: Place your gondola on Code 70, 83, or 100 rail. Make sure the track has a minimum radius of 18” for smooth operation.
Care and Maintenance:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the model. Avoid using harsh chemicals as they may damage the paint or plastic parts.
- Storage: When not in use, keep the gondola in its original packaging to protect it from dust and damage.
Important Notes:
- The couplers are Kadee compatible, so you can easily connect it to other cars in your train set. But be careful when attaching or detaching them to avoid breakage.
- Although the model is weighted to industry standards, don't overload it with additional heavy items as it may affect its performance.
