The Kadee #38 Magne - Matic® coupler comes as a kit. It's a strong plastic - shank coupler with a #621 Torsion Centering Spring and an insulated #233 Draft Gear Box. These 30 - Series couplers are great for body mounting above or below the platform, with or without the Draft Gear Box Lid, and it can be placed on top or bottom. The 30 - Series Torsion Spring should be between the Coupler Spring Lid and Draft Gear Box, either above or below the coupler shank. Each package contains two pairs. Ideal for HO scale model trains!

How to use: You can mount these Kadee #38 couplers either above or below the mounting platform. Decide whether you want to use the Draft Gear Box Lid and place it on the top or bottom as you like. The Torsion Spring needs to be installed between the Coupler Spring Lid and Draft Gear Box. Just make sure it's either above or below the coupler shank. Note: Always ensure the Torsion Spring is correctly placed between the specified parts. Maintenance: Keep these couplers clean. You can use a soft cloth to wipe them gently. If they seem to be sticking, check the spring and the gear box for any debris. With proper care, these couplers will serve your HO scale model trains well for a long time.
