These 30 - Series couplers are versatile. You can mount them above or below the platform, with or without the Draft Gear Box Lid, and the lid can be on top or bottom. The torsion spring in the 30 - Series can be placed either above or below the coupler shank, but it must be between the Coupler Spring Lid and Draft Gear Box. Each package contains two pairs of these excellent couplers for your HO Scale model.

Using these Kadee #36 Magne - Matic Couplers is easy. First, decide whether you want to mount them above or below the mounting platform. You can choose to use the Draft Gear Box Lid or not, and place it on top or bottom according to your preference. When installing the 30 - Series Torsion Spring, make sure it goes between the Coupler Spring Lid and Draft Gear Box, either above or below the coupler shank.
