Discover the Rapido 50050A HO Scale Canadian National mill gondola, numbered #143177. It's painted in boxcar red and features a noodle logo. Note that the picture might show a different road number. This 52'6" mill gondola was first produced in 1943 and continued through the 1950s for several Canadian railways. Many were built by National Steel Car in Hamilton and Eastern Car Company in Trenton. These cars were used in general service across the US and Canada well into the 1980s, and some are still in company service today. Our model accurately captures all the details of the prototype. It has delicate Z (Zed/Zee) bracing or hat channel ribs, separate wire grab irons, positionable drop ends, and ratchet-style hand brakes. The die-cast metal floor adds weight for smooth operation, and the underbody is fully detailed. The interior has full rivet and tie-down details. We offer three different 70-ton trucks - solid bearing, roller bearing, and solid bearing side frames with roller bearing inserts. The trucks have turned, free-rolling metal wheels, and standard metal Macdonald-Cartier knuckle couplers. Our HO scale model comes fully decorated and assembled, with factory-installed grab irons. It has accurate Z-brace side posts or hat channel ribs, a fully detailed underbody, positionable drop ends, correct era-specific trucks, magnetic metal knuckle couplers at the right height, free-rolling turned metal wheelsets, full interior detail, multiple car numbers per scheme, and all new car numbers (no duplicates from previous runs).

Using your HO scale Canadian National mill gondola is easy. Just place it on your model train track and watch it roll! Since it comes fully decorated and assembled, there's no need for complex setup. When handling the gondola, be gentle with the delicate parts like the wire grab irons and positionable drop ends. Avoid rough play to prevent any breakage. For maintenance, use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the gondola. If there's dirt inside, you can use a small, soft brush to carefully remove it. Keep the model in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the paint from fading. Check the trucks and wheels regularly to make sure they're rolling freely. If you notice any issues with the magnetic metal knuckle couplers, give them a light clean with a cloth to ensure proper connection. With these simple steps, your mill gondola will stay in great condition for a long time.
