Prototype and Background Info:
In the mid-1970s, the per diem box car boom started. New, brightly colored box cars emerged quickly, many lettered for short lines. FMC was a major builder of these cars. The 50-foot outside post, non-terminating end box car became the base for new per diem cars in the 1970s. These 50-foot FMC cars had different door styles for different customers. You can still see these models in modern railroading.
Specifications

This Athearn HO scale boxcar is a great addition to your model railroad. Since it doesn't need assembly, you can start using it right away. Just place it on your track with a minimum radius of 18 inches, and the RP25 contour wheels will work smoothly on all popular track brands. To keep it in good shape, avoid rough handling as the separately applied brake wheel and positionable sliding double doors are delicate. You can use a soft, dry cloth to clean the painted and printed body. Store it in a cool, dry place when not in use. This model is recommended for users aged 14 and above, so make sure younger ones use it under adult supervision.
