Kadee presents the #241 'Dual Tool', a fantastic combination of a manual uncoupling tool and a spring pick suitable for all scales of model trains. Ideal for modelers who prefer manual uncoupling with a small tool. The #241 has a 'pointed' end for the #118 & #119 shelf couplers, fitting around the top shelf. Its 'blade' end is for standard couplers and also has nubs, doubling as a spring pick for inserting small coil springs. It's a versatile and essential tool for your model train collection.

Using the Kadee #241 Dual Tool is easy. If you're using it to uncouple the #118 & #119 couplers, first push the cars together so the coupler knuckles compress. Then, insert the pointed end against the 'outside' of the hooked tip of the knuckle as shown. As the point slips in, it'll push the knuckle past the hook of the other knuckle. You can also push the knuckle tip outward with the point to help with uncoupling. Once the knuckle tips are past each other, you can separate the cars. When using the blade end for standard couplers, just insert it in the right spot to uncouple. And when using it as a spring pick, gently pick up the small coil springs. Keep it clean and dry after use. Avoid dropping it or using excessive force, as it might damage the tool. Store it in a safe place to prevent any bending or breakage.
