This Athearn Roundhouse RND1139 HO scale 50-foot plug door smooth side box car represents D&RGW Denver & Rio Grande Western #60977. Note that the picture might show a different road number. It comes fully-assembled and is ready to run right out of the box. The cars feature a standard or cushioned underframe like the prototype. It has a highly-detailed, injection-molded body with a separately applied roof walk and brake wheel. It's painted and printed realistically, weighted for smooth operation. It has 33” machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. The minimum radius for operation is 18”. The Pullman Standard PS-1 box car, in various sizes including 40’, 50’ and 60’ lengths, was very flexible with multiple door configurations.
