PROTOTYPE AND BACKGROUND INFO:
In the 1960s, the North American Car Corporation designed and built a 50’ outside post, insulated, plug door box car, which was a vision of future developments in railroading. Many railroads rostered this car, often leased to private shippers. The NACC cars had complex and colorful paint schemes. At the time of their construction, general leasing, billboard paint schemes, and modern freight - handling techniques were still about a decade away.

Using this Athearn N Scale box car is a breeze. Simply place it on your N - scale train track with a minimum radius of 9 ¾ inches. You can couple it to other cars using the body - mounted McHenry® operating scale knuckle couplers. When it comes to handling, be gentle to avoid damaging the etched metal stirrup steps and other delicate parts. For maintenance, keep it clean by using a soft, dry cloth to wipe off dust. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. If you notice any loose parts, such as the wheels or couplers, you can gently tighten them. Store the box car in a cool, dry place to prevent any warping or damage to the paint scheme. This will ensure your Athearn box car stays in great shape for a long time.
